Paragliding Test Throwback: Ozone F*Race 2 Ultralight Competition and Adventure Harness. Throwback to our first look at this harness 👀 At the time, this was purely a first-impression review. Since then, we’ve tested it extensively in a wide range of conditions and with over a dozen wings, which means we can now give proper expert buying advice on it through our Match service! Here are a few quick points about it: After months of testing the F*Race 2 with over a dozen wings, I’m convinced this is Ozone’s most refined harness to date. I’ve really enjoyed using it, and I'll be keeping one as part of my own quiver for testing gear! The standout feature is the balance of very low weight and pack size versus structural rigidity. By combining their innovative Dyneema weight-spreading 'web' with two flat stiffening rods in the back, they’ve solved the 'wallowy' feel common in many ultralight pods. It gives you genuinely excellent handling authority and length-wise support that stays comfortable even after several hours in the air. It’s user friendly and highly versatile. You can fly it quite upright or fully reclined, and the stability is easy to adjust in-flight via the ABS system to suit the conditions or your wing choice! The inflatable protection is one of the best-in-class for coverage, and the storage is surprisingly generous for a 'race' harness, making it well-suited for vol-biv too. Expert Tip: While the manual says the reserve compartment takes 3–5L, our practical testing of many reserves shows that 3–4L is the real-world limit for a good fit. If you're looking for an ultralight pod that doesn't compromise on protection, handling, performance, or build quality, this is a massive step forward in R&D and highly recommended!
