Hiking at Opal Creek to Jawbone Flats- On April 1, 2017 I took a new hiking friend up to Opal Creek. This almost 8 mile hike takes you through beautiful old growth, along the Little North Santiam River, up through the old mining town of Jawbone Flats, and to Opal Pool, where in the summer lots of people hang out by the water and swim.
