Threading the film…
After landing in Kathmandu, we spent a day exploring the chaos, colour and calm around Boudha Stupa before flying into Lukla to begin one of the most famous trekking routes in the world. Over the first few days we hike from Lukla to Phakding, then on to Namche Bazaar. We stayed in the busy mountain town for two nights, to acclimatise a little more before heading higher into the Himalayas. We also make the climb up to Khumjung, getting our first proper views of the huge peaks surrounding us and starting to feel the altitude properly kick in. Still a long way to go from here, with Gokyo Ri, the Cho La Pass and Everest Base Camp all still ahead of us.
