📍White Memorial Conservation Center - Litchfield, Connecticut Save this hike for warmer weather! This easy, 1.2 mile wooden boardwalk in Litchfield, Connecticut traverses Little Pond. This is a nature lover’s dream, with numerous species of wildlife and plants. Throughout the spring and summer, wildflowers bloom along the trail. If you’re considering taking your furry friend, know that this trail might not be suitable for all. Some dogs might be uneasy walking the wooden boardwalk. If you have a reactive dog (like mine) I recommend leaving them at home or taking one of the other trails at White Memorial Conservation Center. The narrow path requires passing other visitors closely. If you have a calm and confident dog, however, it’s a great place or a stroll.
