Rocky Tides and Sandy Strides | Oregon Coast Trail Part 1

Part 1 of my Oregon Coast Trail hike takes me from Newport to Waldport, a stunning stretch of the central coast known for its wide beaches, rocky tide pools, and dramatic ocean views. The weather came through with sunny skies and light clouds, making for a perfect start. The route had a little bit of everything...sandy beach walks, rocky tide pools, and even a few road sections. Seal Rock was the scenic highlight, though I got a quick reminder that the ocean doesn’t wait when I misjudged the tide and soaked me.
