Episode 50 - Kīlauea Volcano Eruption (June 27, 2026) 4K HDR

Episode 50 finally brought us a return of the 1,000 ft. lava fountain which we haven't seen since episode 43. This eruption had minimal precursory activity which included two nights of periodic spatter and then just before 7am on Saturday, June 27, 2026, the first big dome overflow emerged out of the North vent followed by a second big dome around 9am which was the beginning of episode 50 officially starting at 10:10am and ending at 5:10pm for 7 hrs. Trade winds were strong for episode 50 and the weather was mostly rainy with some periods of time where the clouds would allow some sunlight through improving visibility momentarily. Overall, this was another special episode and the park was overflowing with visitors with insane traffic now that we're in the middle of Summer vacation. Enjoy the nature and beauty of Hawaii! 🌋.
