Fly Fishing and Aviation history is a fascinating journey that spans over a century. Marked by innovation, courage and significant milestones. From the late 19th century where 2 brothers from Kitty Hawk, NC pioneered the first powered flight, to our now booming space exploration program. And the pioneers of our wonderful sport of fly fishing. Here we look at the rugged, loyal and strong aircraft of the bush. These floatplanes were exceptionally important in the geological surveys, wildfire mitigation, and the building of towns in NW Ontario. The pilots are as fascinating as the planes themselves! Not to mention... 95% of them fly fish! Here, where the roads end, and the silence begins, the journey to the fish starts in the sky!
